Event/Wedding Hire Equipment Terms & Conditions
 

Definitions by Law

By Owner, We, Us and Our we mean the supplier of the goods ‘VA Weddings & Events Ltd’.  You or Your means the customer hiring the Goods.

Goods means all equipment hired by Us to the Customer.

 

  1. All hired goods remain the property of VA Weddings & Events Ltd. The Customer is responsible for the hired goods during the period of hire. 

  2. Once a deposit is paid to secure your booking, it is non-refundable. The total value of the invoice represents the contracted minimum spend amount with VA Weddings & Events Ltd. 

  3. The agreement for the hire of goods is between VA Weddings & Events Ltd and the Customer, not the venue, unless goods are being hired directly by the venue. 

  4. VA Weddings & Events Ltd will charge the Customer for any costs due to terms and conditions being broken. It is then the responsibility of the Customer to reclaim any of these costs from the venue if the venue was at fault. 

  5. Shortages, loss and damages to hired goods will be charged at full replacement value and delivery to The Owner. No substitute item will be accepted by The Owner. 

  6. The Owner will inform The Customer within 7 days, in writing, of any damages and costs concerning any of the Hired Goods. An invoice will be sent outlining the nature of damage and costs incurred to the Customer. 

  7. Goods must be ready for delivery/collection at the agreed location and at the correct date and time. An additional charge will apply to the Customer should We have to make additional trips due to Customer fault. 

  8. A refundable damage deposit of £250 is required prior to the event. This deposit will be held as security against any loss of, or damage to, the Company’s stock or equipment during the hire period. Provided that no damage or loss is identified upon return of the items and following a satisfactory inspection by VA Weddings & Events Ltd, the deposit will be refunded in full within 10 working days after the event. In the event of any damage or loss, VA Weddings & Events Ltd reserves the right to withhold part or all of the deposit to cover the cost of repair or replacement. 

  9. Charges will be made for any damaged goods, including goods that have been dragged on the floor, ground in earth stains, burns, holes, rips and tears, candle wax, grease or deep staining, dents, scratches, cracks, excluding general wear and tear. 

  10. Damaged goods remain the property of VA Weddings & Events Ltd.

  11. If goods are not returned at the end of the agreed hire period, VA Weddings &  Events Ltd retain the right to charge for:

    1. The cost of replacement goods to honour any bookings where the goods are required.

    2. The cost of replacement goods where hired items are permanently not returned. 

  12. All replacement goods will be charged at the cost of goods including delivery. 

  13. Goods that are to be collected and returned by the Customer must be collected and returned to the agreed address, on the agreed dates otherwise charges will be made as stated in point number 12. 

  14. A surcharge of £100.00 will apply to any collections requested or required on the same day after 10:00 PM. This fee covers the additional staffing and logistical costs associated with late-hour operations. The surcharge is payable in advance or will be deducted from any deposit held. 

 

We Hold full Public Liability Insurance and all our electrical products are regularly P.A.T tested.
